About Nell’s Farm House

Nestled on an old cotton farm, Nell’s House lets you escape the day-to-day rat race and provides you with a memorable country experience. Nell Metcalfe’s dedication to her house shines through during your stay at our vintage home. Staying at Nell’s House is a truly memorable and fun experience. It may even remind you of times when you traveled to your own grandma’s house.

The vintage home consists of two nice-size bedrooms, one with a double bed and one king bed. A third bedroom has bunk beds for the children. There is a television with basic cable in the cozy den. The eat-in kitchen contains all cookware, utensils, and kitchenware one may need. If there is something missing ask us about it and we will see what we can do to make your cooking wish come true. All linens and towels are supplied. There is a large, centrally located bath with double vanity and tub with shower.

However, the greatest amenities are outside the home as it is situated on a dirt road just a short turn off the main road in a quiet community with a large deck off the kitchen, presenting pictorial views of woods and pastures where horses quietly graze. The house is located in the Metcalfe Community. And yes, the community is named after our family. You can also visit the Lawndale Historical Museum where you can see the “Lawndale Dummy,” a private railway that ran between Shelby and Lawndale and is located at the old Metcalfe Store.

The Metcalfe’s take pride in taking excellent care of their guests and making them feel at home from the first moment they step into the home. You can Google NetPosse and find out what we do for horses via Stolen Horse International-NetPosse, a nonprofit organization.

The space

Three bedrooms, (1 king, 1 double, 1 bunk) 1 bath, fully stocked kitchen, large living room, deck, large yard, plenty of parking, cable-TV, Wi-Fi with horses to watch as you have your morning coffee.

Guest access

Guest will have access to the full house. We do not rent one room at a time. we have a minimum of two nights rental.

This house does have Wi-Fi, an alarm system, and a washer and dryer.

We do on occasion allow dogs. We will need to speak with your first and there are additional charges for pets. Do not assume that your dog is booked unless you talk to us first and your dog is approved.
